Located at 685 Market St (conveniently near BART as well as the Westin and Sir Francis Drake hotels), Jeffrey’s is a must for children of all ages here in the city by the bay!
A unique layout as soon as you walk in, the place is filled to the brim of all manner of awesome models, planes trains, automobiles, and more of the fantastical like dragons and other mythological critters.
A welcoming, always smiling staff is peppered in between aisles, always ready to help answer questions, and direct you to whatever it is you’re looking for.
They keep a wealthy selection of modern, contemporary toys, dolls, stuffed animals, action figures and board games, well organized and displayed in an eye catching way.
My personal favorite of course, is the comic section. They have it in the back, with newest issues from all major publishers bagged and boarded, and back issues in several long boxes next to them. They stress it’s not a library, and there is certainly no opening up the bags, but most collectors already have a well established pull list, and know what to get- while newer and or younger fans would have to finalize their purchase based on the myriad of brightly four color colored covers.
Peter (Ironically named employee for a comic book store) is a wonderful, very knowledgeable and approachable gentleman who certainly knows his stuff. Also very opinionated, which leaves plenty of room for interesting debate, which is appreciated if your into that sort of thing.
All in all, after visiting several local comic book stores, I would say this is certainly in the top 5 in San Francisco. Chances are, if a parent is looking for a toy or book or game for their child, Jeffrey’s has it covered in spades.
